Methodist Southwest Medical Center in Dallas area seeks a Surgical Technician II Certified to support operating room cases. You will anticipate needs, prepare instrumentation, and hand instruments to surgeons while maintaining sterile technique.

On-call coverage is required and responsibilities include setup, turnover, and assisting with sterilization. A CST credential and BLS are mandatory, with advanced competency in multiple specialties preferred.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Graduate of certified Surgical Technologist program, military trained, or AD in Surgical Technology preferred.
• Advanced competencies in a minimum of 3 specialties (to be determined by each hospital).

Mansioni

• Anticipate needs of the surgical team and obtain instrumentation and supplies for the procedure.
• Pass instruments to surgeon and assistant during the procedure.
• Assist with terminal cleaning of the room and preparation for the next case.
• Begin cleaning back table and preparing instruments for terminal cleaning and sterilization as circulator prepares patient to leave.
• Place instruments back in the tray for transport to SPD.
• Adhere to policy and procedures such as count policy, universal protocol, and labeling of medications.
• Work with students and inexperienced staff on correct methods for passing and retrieving instruments.
