Job summary

Livingston Place at Southern Ave Assisted Living in Washington, DC seeks compassionate Personal Care Aides (DC-Certified Nursing Assistant or DC-Home Health Aide) to join our team. The position is PRN: on-call, with duties including assistance in dining, activities, and daily living tasks per resident needs, while maintaining confidentiality and reporting changes promptly to

Qualifications

• High school degree required.
• 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
• Current DC CNA or Home Health Certification required.
• Valid and current CPR/First Aid certification required.
• Proficiency in English required.
• Familiarity and willingness to work with the elderly population.

Responsibilities

• Assists with all of the care needs a resident might require.
• Maintains confidentiality of resident and fellow employees’ information.
• Notifies the nurse on duty or directors of changes in condition.
• Assists in the dining room during meals: set up, take orders, serve, bus tables.
• Assists with activities and helps residents attend scheduled activities.
• Help residents get ready and to the lobby for appointments.
• Report changes in condition to licensed staff immediately.
• Take accurate vital signs and weights when needed.
• Assist with patient care tasks up to 40 pounds.
• Maintain First Aid/CPR current.
• Attend mandatory in-services and meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
