Job summary

Matson Navigation Company of Alaska, LLC is seeking a Hostler Driver for on-call, union casual work in Alaska. The role requires availability Monday–Friday, typically 8 am–6 pm, with no guaranteed hours.

As part of vessel operations, you'll dray equipment, move containers, and support yard and dock activities. Candidates must hold a valid Class A CDL with Tanker, Air Brake, and HazMat endorsements, a current DOT medical card, and be able to obtain a TWIC card.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Class A CDL with Tanker, Air Brake, and HazMat endorsements.
• Prefer one to two years of commercial driving experience.
• Must have a current DOT medical card.
• Must obtain and maintain a TWIC card.
• Ability to work all shifts and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Street driving: Dray equipment to and from a customer's location.
• Hostler Operation: Safely move containers to and from the yard and dock locations.
• Perform additional duties as directed by management.
• Constantly follow safety rules/practices to ensure performance of duties in a safe and consistent manner.
• Comply with OSHA and DOT safe working rules and regulations.
