Job summary

Matson is seeking a Hostler Driver in Alaska on a call-in, as-needed basis. This on-call union position requires availability between 8 am and 6 pm, Monday through Friday, with no minimum hours. There is no guaranteed minimum.

The compensation range is competitive hourly pay based on experience. Candidate must hold a valid Class A CDL with Tanker, Air Brake, and HazMat endorsements, a current DOT medical card, and the ability to obtain a TWIC card.

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain a valid Class A CDL with Tanker, Air Brake, and HazMat endorsements.
• Prefer one to two years of commercial driving experience.
• Must have a current DOT medical card.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a TWIC card.
• Must join the union and stay in good standing with Teamsters Local 959.

Responsibilities

• This position is on a call-in, as needed basis.
• Rate of pay is between $45.75 and $50.94 per hour.
• All candidates interviewed must bring a current driving history record going back 10 years.
• Must pass a background, alcohol, and drug screen.
• Must have a valid Alaska Commercial Driver's License.

About The Role

The Hostler Driver will support the operation as on on-call, union casual employee.

This position requires the individual to be available for work assignments on an on-call basis, Monday through Friday, typically from 8 am to 6 pm.

There is no guarantee of a minimum number of hours, and the job duties will vary daily depending on operational needs.

What you’ll do:

• Please note that this position is on a call-in, as needed basis.
• Rate of pay is between $45.75 and $50.94 per hour.
• All candidates selected to interview must bring a current driving history record going back a minimum of 10 years.
• Must be able to pass a background, alcohol, and drug screen.
• Must join the union and stay in good standing with Teamsters Local 959.
• Must have a valid Alaska Commercial Driver's License.

And these qualifications:

• Must have and maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Tanker, Air Brake, and HazMat endorsements.
• Prefer one to two years of commercial driving experience.
• Must have a current DOT medical card.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a TWIC card.
• Ability to work all shifts and overtime as needed.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demand for this position requires the employee to be physically capable of working in a variety of environments and weather. Physical activities include standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, twisting, turning, bending, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching.
