Job summary

The Los Angeles LGBT Center is seeking a Barista on Call to join the Liberation Coffee House team. You will take orders, craft beverages and light foods, and keep the cafe clean while delivering outstanding customer service.

The role requires at least 6 months of coffee house or kitchen experience, a Food Handler's Permit (or ability to obtain within 30 days), and a friendly, inclusive attitude. Shifts are on call and team-oriented.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of or experience with the LGBTQ community and sensitivity to LGBTQ youth.
• Passion for the Center's mission to improve lives.
• Food Handler's Permit required or ability to pass within 30 days.
• Minimum 6 months of coffee house or kitchen experience preferred.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with diverse people in a multicultural environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and deliver exceptional service.
• Prepare and serve espresso, specialty drinks, tea and smoothies.
• Assist with food inventories and ordering with management.
• Maintain cafe cleanliness and operate POS transactions.
• Follow health, safety and sanitation guidelines and logs.
• Collaborate with team and participate in staff meetings.
• Support catering and event services as needed.
