Job summary

State of Washington is seeking an experienced Boiler Operator (Stationary Engineer 2) for Fircrest Residential Habilitation Center in Shoreline, WA. You will operate, monitor, and maintain high-pressure steam boilers and related HVAC systems to ensure safe, reliable performance for residents and staff.

The role requires hands-on skills with combustion control systems (Cleaver-Brooks HAWK, Metasys, Fireye) and the ability to troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance, with after-hours

Qualifications

• Three years of experience operating, maintaining, and/or repairing stationary high-pressure boilers and heating systems.
• Certificate of completion of an advanced Stationary Engineer course from an accredited school.
• State service as a Stationary Engineer 1 and HVAC journeyman credentials are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a two-boiler high-pressure steam plant (natural gas with diesel backup).
• Monitor gauges, valves, pumps, electronic controls, and safety equipment for continuous operation.
• Inspect and repair auxiliary systems: feedwater pumps, condensate pumps, deaerators, air compressors, and safety devices.
