Job summary

Lutheran Social Services of South Dakota (LSS) is seeking on-call, part-time interpreters to provide professional in-person interpretation and translation services in the Sioux Falls area. Candidates must reside in the Sioux Falls metro area and be authorized to work in the United States.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for in-person interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional in-person interpretation across the Sioux Falls area.
• Provide translation of written documents.
• Conduct pre-session communications with clients and non-English speakers.
• Deliver real-time, face-to-face interpretation accurately translating spoken statements both ways.
• Demonstrate active listening and professional demeanor respecting cultural differences.
