Job summary

Johnson County Government's Mental Health division seeks a flexible on-call Behavioral Health Specialist for the Treatment Recovery Place. You will provide direct support, crisis interventions, and assist with personal care under supervision while promoting recovery goals.

We require daytime and overnight availability with a minimum of one shift per month and a maximum of 999 hours per year. A valid driver's license is preferred, and prior experience in behavioral health is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and one year of experience in a human services field.
• A valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record is preferred.
• Minimum shifts: cover at least one shift per month.
• Annual hour limit: up to 999 hours per year.

Responsibilities

• Provides, assists with, or coaches individuals on personal care needs with limited supervision; provides crisis interventions and monitors medication administration; records mental and physical condition.
• Teaches, coaches and supports individuals in skills to enable productive lives and coping strategies; supports treatment/recovery goals.
• Organizes and participates in care coordination meetings; completes documentation for direct services.
• Transports individuals to appointments, activities and/or work.
