Job summary

Four Seasons Hotel Seattle is seeking an on-call Banquet Server to support high-profile events in a luxury setting. You will participate in the setup, service, and breakdown of banquets, describe menu items with confidence, and coordinate guest needs with the kitchen.

This role requires banquet experience, a Food Handler Card and MASt Alcohol Permit at hire, and a positive, energetic approach to delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of food & beverage operations.
• Must hold Food Handler Card and MAST Alcohol Permit at time of hire.
• Experience in banquet service preferred.
• Banquet serving skills and guest interaction demonstrated.
• Professional bartending skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participates in setup, service, and removal of food and beverages during banquet functions.
• Maintains knowledge of menu items to describe them confidently.
• Communicates guest orders and dietary needs to the kitchen.
• Delivers food and beverages promptly to guest tables.
• Anticipates guest needs and provides attentive service.
• Ensures service standards of excellence are achieved.
• Works harmoniously with team and supervisors.

Key Elements Of The Job

• Participates in the service, setup and removal of food and beverage during banquet functions
• Maintains knowledge of menu items to be able to confidently describe food during plated and buffet meals along with receptions
• Communicates guest orders including any special needs, dietary restrictions or requests to the kitchen
• Delivers food and beverage to the guest table in a timely manner to ensure food quality
• Anticipates guests’ needs and responds promptly with utmost care and attention
• Ascertains satisfaction and offers suggestions in enhancing the guest experience
• Breakdowns, cleans and set‑up of tables, food buffets and beverage stations
• Ensures Four Seasons service standards of excellence are achieved
• Works harmoniously and professionally with co‑workers and supervisors

Preferred Qualifications And Skills

• Strong food & beverage knowledge is required
• Food Handler Card and MAST Alcohol Permit is required at time of hire
• Maintain ownership of duties through hard work and discipline
• Flexible scheduling requiring availability of morning, afternoon, evening, weekends and holidays
• Banquet experience preferred
• Bartending skills is a plus
• Positive attitude with a generous and uplifting team approach
• Strong work ethic which includes a drive to grow, improve and learn everyday
• Energetic approach to his/her craft
• Calm composure under pressure
