Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels is seeking a Banquet Bartender to deliver exceptional beverage service at weddings, meetings, and other events. You will set up bars, mix cocktails, and create a welcoming atmosphere for guests.

You'll work in fast-paced events across our properties, maintain inventory, ensure safety standards, and collaborate with culinary and service teams to drive guest satisfaction and event revenue.

Qualifications

• Previous bartending, restaurant, hotel, lounge, nightlife, or hospitality experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, and responsible alcohol service practices.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
• Experience using POS systems and handling cash transactions accurately.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and break down banquet bars according to event requirements and hotel standards.
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes and guest preferences.
• Provide exceptional guest service by engaging with guests and making recommendations.
• Review banquet event orders to understand bar setup, beverage selections, and guest counts.
• Maintain knowledge of beverages and event offerings; upsell where appropriate.
• Operate efficiently during high-volume weddings and other events.
• Track beverage consumption, process payments, and manage cash or hosted bars.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation across bar and service areas.
• Assist with glassware, garnishes, ice, and inventory.

What you'll be doing

• Set up, operate, and break down banquet bars according to event requirements, banquet event orders, and hotel standards.
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes, brand standards, and guest preferences.
• Provide exceptional guest service by engaging with guests, making recommendations, and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
• Review banquet event orders and function details to understand bar setup, beverage selections, guest counts, timing, and special requests.
• Maintain strong knowledge of cocktails, wine, beer, spirits, and event beverage offerings.
• Operate efficiently during high-volume weddings, meetings, receptions, celebrations, and special events.
• Accurately track beverage consumption, process payments, manage hosted or cash bars, and complete required event documentation.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, presentation, and sanitation standards across banquet bar and service areas.
• Assist with glassware, garnishes, ice, inventory, stock replenishment, portable bar setup, and opening and closing duties.
• Follow food safety guidelines, responsible alcohol service standards, and hotel operational procedures.
• Monitor guest satisfaction and address guest concerns professionally and promptly.
• Partner closely with Banquet Servers, Event teams, Culinary teams, and Food & Beverage leadership to support seamless event execution.
• Support upselling opportunities and beverage programs that enhance the guest experience and drive event revenue.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, holidays, and event support as needed.
• TIPS Certification, Food Handler Certification, or alcohol service certification preferred where required.
• A passion for hospitality, teamwork, guest experience, and creating memorable food & beverage moments.
