Job summary

Maryland School for the Deaf seeks on-call substitute teacher aides to support daily classroom operations at the Columbia campus. You will implement instruction, assist with arrivals/dismissals, and supervise students during off-campus activities as needed.

Excellent ASL and written English are required, along with the ability to work with diverse learners and maintain confidentiality. These on-call roles support teachers and ensure continuity of instruction for students across levels.

Qualifications

• Fluency in ASL and written English required.
• Knowledge of students with additional disabilities and ability to teach students on different levels and with varying educational background required.

Responsibilities

• Implement student instructional programs and daily schedules as directed by the teacher.
• Be available on an on-call basis to substitute for planned lessons.
• Follow behavior support plans and ensure a safe learning environment.
