Job summary

Maryland School for the Deaf is seeking substitute teacher aides to support classroom instruction on an on-call basis at the Frederick Campus.

Candidates must be fluent in ASL and written English, with a high school diploma or GED. Knowledge of diverse learners and disabilities is preferred; background checks required. Duties include following behavior plans and ensuring a safe, confidential learning environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Fluency in ASL and written English required.
• Knowledge of students with additional disabilities and ability to teach students on different levels and with varying educational background required.

Responsibilities

• Implement student instructional programs and daily schedules as directed by the teacher.
• Assist with the arrival and dismissal of students, and supervise students during off campus instruction.
• Provide a safe environment for students and maintain confidentiality of student information.
