Job summary

Ahtna, Inc. is seeking an Armed Security Guard for a part-time, on-call role in New York, NY. The guard will perform fixed-post, mobile, and foot patrols while following post orders and client protocols, often in challenging conditions.

On-call status with pay of $35.09/hour plus $5.75/hour health and welfare stipend. Responsibilities include monitoring alarms and access control, reporting incidents, assisting law enforcement as needed, and maintaining detailed activity logs.

Qualifications

• 1.Education: High school diploma or equivalent
• 2.Experience: Minimum of 2 years of security/civilian law enforcement experience OR U.S. Armed Forces
• 3.Must have a state of New York Armed Guard card.
• 4.Language: Fluent in English (spoken and written).
• 5.Pre-Hire Screening: Criminal background, drug test, and physical exam.

Responsibilities

• Keep supervisors and managers informed of unusual occurrences and important events per post orders.
• Monitor alarms, radio traffic, and information sources; dispatch or inform as needed.
• Report and address fire alarms, burglar alarms, suspicious activity, and security incidents.
• Screen and inspect vehicles and pedestrians entering/exiting the facility.
• Escort individuals or vehicles as directed; enforce access control and post orders.
• Maintain logs and cooperate with law enforcement as required.
