Job summary

Santa Barbara City College’s Disability Services and Programs for Students (DSPS) seeks dependable, compassionate assistants to join the Student Accessibility Support Team. On-call, on-site, temporary hourly work with flexible assignments throughout the academic year.

Selected team members will undergo HR clearance, TB testing, Live Scan, and paid DSPS training before taking on assignments as needs arise. Work options are flexible to fit your schedule.

Qualifications

• English 110 (or equivalent) required.
• Math 117/137 (or equivalent) for math-related assignments.
• Successful completion of DSPS Orientation and Training required.

Responsibilities

• Take class notes for students with disabilities.
• Read course materials aloud to students.
• Transcribe dictated work and describe visuals during class.
• Provide mobility assistance around campus if needed.
• Offer reader or transcription services during tests.
• Assist with transportation around campus when required.
