Job summary

Serrato Corporation in Detroit is seeking an on-call instructor to provide lessons across Reading, Mathematics, Workplace Communications, CSS, Health Education, Driver's Education, or HSD/HSE. This role operates in a substitute capacity and delivers instruction as needed to support student progress.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in education, demonstrates strong classroom management, and is proficient with Microsoft Office tools.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
• Bachelor's degree in education from a four-year college or university and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid State Driver's License and teaching certification in the state where the center is located.

Responsibilities

• Performs as an instructor on an as-needed basis in Reading, Mathematics, Workplace Communications, CSS, Health Education, Driver's Education, or HSD/HSE.
• Promotes a positive classroom atmosphere and maximizes student motivation.
• Maintains classroom discipline to maximize learning and develops rapport with students.
• Coordinates curriculum development with career tech instructors and uses available curricular resources.
• Maintains student folders, attendance in CIS, and participates in evaluation of student performance.
• Follows policies, participates in staff training, and assists with graduation exercises.
