Job summary

Alaska Railroad Corporation in Anchorage seeks a Senior On-Board Specialist to oversee daily operations aboard passenger trains, managing Tour Guides, onboard contractors, and seasonal staff to deliver outstanding guest experiences, safety, and service.

You will coordinate special event trains, train staff, mentor crews, handle passenger needs, and lead announcements and storytelling, while partnering with food service and other departments to maintain smooth, high-quality journeys.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Ten months (two summer seasons) with the ARRC in Guest Services.
• One year of Customer Service supervisory experience.
• Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certificate within 30 days.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in business, education or related degree.

Responsibilities

• Mentors, leads, and evaluates assigned staff with ongoing coaching and performance feedback.
• Ensures staff and contracted personnel meet Alaska Railroad service, safety, and performance standards.
• Addresses customer and employee concerns related to onboard services and guest experience.
• Coordinates planning and execution of special projects, events, and seasonal training.
• Delivers onboard announcements and provides friendly, informative narration throughout trips.
