Job summary

iHeartMedia in Charlotte seeks a Traffic Anchor to keep listeners informed about local traffic and weather. You will gather information from multiple sources, write and read traffic updates on air, and produce copy for websites and social media.

The role requires a clear, well-controlled on-air voice, strong writing/editing skills, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends or holidays.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
• Clear, pleasant on-air voice with good pronunciation.
• Excellent writing and editing abilities with strong grammar.
• Fast-paced, deadline-driven newsroom experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of local geography and traffic patterns.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, accurate information to help commuters plan drives.
• Deliver up-to-the-minute reports on accidents and major delays.
• Read traffic updates and PSAs on air.
• Gather information from multiple sources and monitor feeds.
• Write, research, and produce traffic/weather copy; edit audio.
• Verify facts and maintain updated website content.
• Create content for websites, blogs, and social media.
• Work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays.
