Job summary

CarMax’s Retail & HR Strategy team analyzes data to guide a multi-channel shopping experience and workforce decisions. As a Manager, you collaborate with Product, Technology, HR and Operations to shape strategy and enable analytics-driven decisions.

You will develop dashboards, models, and reports to monitor performance and drive improvements across the business, while partnering with teams to implement ideas and tests for impact.

Qualifications

• Track record of problem solving, strategic thinking, and data analysis.
• Experience conducting large-scale data analysis and willingness to learn SQL/Tableau.
• Ability to apply business and technical knowledge to solve complex problems and make recommendations.
• Ability to communicate complex topics to varying backgrounds and levels of technical familiarity.
• Willingness to collaborate with analysts and business partners shaping strategy.
• Four or more years of experience in an analytical or strategic role.
• Four-year undergraduate degree with strong academic performance

Responsibilities

• Be a thought leader who helps set the strategic direction for business partners in Product, Technology, HR and Operations
• Partner across the business to ensure the strategy ladders to CarMax’s vision and strategic plan
• Develop & enhance analytical tools, such as data sets, models, reports, and dashboards
• Generate value-creating ideas and work with business partners to prioritize and activate these ideas
• Design & analyze tests to evaluate the effectiveness of changes to products and operations
