Job summary

Kate Spade New York is seeking a Buyer for Omni Leathergoods to build and execute a unique product strategy that meets and exceeds financial goals across leather goods categories.

The successful candidate will drive category performance through strong analytics, open-to-buy management, and collaboration with Global Merch, Planning, Ecommerce, Marketing, VM, and supply ops to optimize assortments and growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a retail buying role.
• Omni buying experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong financial acumen.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales and achieve financial goals for the leather goods categories
• Analyze sales and inventory weekly/monthly/quarterly to gain a comprehensive understanding of the business and make recommendations to drive growth
• Identify risks and opportunities within the assortment through regular hind-sighting that incorporates sales performance, consumer feedback, and competitive insight
• Work in close partnership with Global Merch on line development to ensure business needs are met
• Partner with Planning team to manage open-to-buy and markdown/promotional approach to ensure achievement of sales, margin, and turn targets
• Own SKU plan to achieve financial goals
• Liaise with the supply ops team to ensure timely delivery of merchandise
• Partner with Ecommerce team to enhance the digital shopping experience
• Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, VM, Ecommerce, Field Team, & CX to executive business strategies
• Comp shop the marketplace and gather qualitative feedback on product, customers, & competition to identify assortment opportunities
• Present in milestone meetings to leadership
• Manage an assistant buyer to meet deliverables while successfully supporting their growth and development
