Essential Job Functions
- Works under supervision of the Senior Associate AthleticsDirector for Student-Athlete Health and Well-Being.
- Assumes responsibility for the leadership, management,development, and oversight of the Department of PerformanceNutrition for Olympic Sports.
- Oversees purchasing and budgeting of supplies and equipment forthe Department of Performance Nutrition for Olympic Sports.
- Oversees inventory of supplies and equipment for the Departmentof Performance Nutrition for Olympic Sports.
- Oversees maintenance of all equipment for the Department ofPerformance Nutrition for Olympic Sports.
- Oversees and administers the development of a comprehensivenutrition program for Olympic Sports that focuses on injuryprevention, athletic performance enhancement, and mental disciplinein conjunction with members of the High Performance Team.
- Communicate and collaborate with student-athletes,administration, coaches, sports medicine, and other support staffon a daily basis.
- Oversees the development, review, and implementation ofdepartmental policies and procedures.
- Oversees the operation of the App Fuel Station'sfacilities.
- Organizes and administers weekly/monthly Department ofPerformance Nutrition staff meetings.
- Serve as a member of the department's High PerformanceTeam.
- Attends monthly High Performance Team meetings (whenavailable).
- Directly oversees nutrition staff for Department of PerformanceNutrition for Olympic Sports.
- Develop strategies to ensure that student-athletes areinstructed and utilize proper nutritional habits.
- Facilitate integration of new sport specific nutritionalstrategies.
- Develop strategies to maximize athletic performance whileminimizing occurrence of injury in a safe, structured trainingenvironment.
- Work in conjunction with the coaches to implement an inclusivenutritional program and implement year round programs.
- Maintain a positive visibility.
- Oversees the coordination of schedules and needs for App FuelStations.
- Maintain continuing education according to the requirements.(Certification)
- Abide by the rules as set forth by the National CollegiateAthletic Association, Southern Conference, and SunbeltConference.
- Performs miscellaneous related duties.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Senior AssociateAthletics Director for Student-Athlete Health and Well-Being.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position
Preferred Qualifications
Registered Dietitian (RDN), preferred Master's, and at least oneyear of experience working in a collegiate or comparable setting asa student, GA, intern, fellow, or staff role.Experience
