Job summary

PNC is seeking a Data Engineer within the Lending Tech organization. The role will design, build, and maintain enterprise OLTP data stores across MySQL and Oracle, supporting high-volume lending transactions.

Based in one of several hubs (Miamisburg, OH; Pittsburgh, PA; Dallas, TX; Birmingham, AL; Strongsville, OH) with a focus on reliability and security. You will collaborate across engineering, operations and security to implement HA/DR, performance tuning, and scalable data movement.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience designing and operating high-volume enterprise OLTP databases.
• Advanced SQL and performance tuning across MySQL and Oracle.
• Experience with backup/restore validation, patch planning, monitoring and incident response.
• Proven ability to collaborate across engineering, operations, and security.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve an enterprise transactional data model for lending payment processing.
• Define database standards for reliability, scalability, performance.
• Implement high availability and disaster recovery patterns.
• Drive performance engineering and workload management.
• Design and support replication/data movement strategies.
• Partner with security for encryption, access controls, auditing.
• Document architecture diagrams, decision records, runbooks.
