Job summary

Chromalox is seeking an OKUMA CNC Specialist for the 3rd shift to operate and set up CNC machines using Okuma controls. You will work from blueprints and production specifications to produce quality parts efficiently and accurately, performing routine adjustments and measurements.

The ideal candidate has hands-on CNC experience with Okuma controls, ability to read drawings and GD&T, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Experience with Okuma-controlled CNC machines.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
• Knowledge of GD&T principles and basic machining processes.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Ability to perform basic CNC setups and routine offsets/adjustments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality parts.
• Good communication and teamwork, able to work independently.
• Willingness to learn additional CNC programming and machining skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machines with Okuma controls safely and efficiently.
• Set up machines with tooling, fixtures, and materials per job requirements.
• Read blueprints and engineering docs; interpret GD&T.
• Load and adjust CNC programs; verify with measurements.
• Make tool offsets and routine adjustments to maintain quality.
• Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges; document results.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and communicate findings to supervisors.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and accurate records.
