Job summary

G-Mining-Ventures is seeking a Mine Maintenance Superintendent for its Oko West Mine Site in Guyana. The role requires strong field presence and coordination of maintenance across shifts, ensuring reliability and safety in all activities.

You will oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for a large mining fleet, manage budgets and spare parts, and lead multidisciplinary teams while adhering to HSE standards in a remote mining environment.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of heavy equipment maintenance experience.
• At least 5 years in a senior supervisory or superintendent role.
• Experience with large mining fleets and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of PM, reliability, troubleshooting, RCA, major component management.

Responsibilities

• Lead all planned, preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for the mining fleet.
• Maximize fleet availability and monitor KPIs such as MTBF/MTTR.
• Plan and schedule maintenance, including WOs, staffing, and budgets.
• Lead supervisors, planners, technicians, and contractors; ensure shift handovers.
• Maintain maintenance data, costs, parts usage, and performance records to support decisions.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain, OEMs, and suppliers for parts and support.
• Develop and control maintenance budgets and identify efficiency improvements.
• Provide visible safety leadership and ensure HSE compliance in all activities.

Job Description

We are currently seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Mine Maintenance Superintendent to join our team in Guyana at the Oko West Mine Site. The position requires strong field presence and effective coordination of maintenance activities across operating shifts.

• Lead all planned, preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities for the mining fleet, including shovels, excavators, haul trucks, drills, dozers, graders, loaders, and support equipment.
• Maximize fleet availability and reliability by monitoring equipment condition, breakdowns, recurring failures, maintenance backlog, component life, and maintenance KPIs, and implementing timely corrective actions.
• Ensure effective maintenance planning and scheduling, including preventive maintenance, major repairs, component replacements, shutdowns, work orders, manpower, tooling, and resources.
• Lead maintenance general foremen, supervisors, planners, technicians, and contractors, ensuring adequate staffing, competency development, performance management, accountability, and effective shift handovers.
• Ensure effective use of Maintenance management System, maintaining accurate equipment history, work orders, maintenance costs, parts consumption, and performance data to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain, Warehouse, OEMs, and suppliers to ensure availability of critical spare parts, consumables, major components, technical support, and warranty follow-up.
• Develop and control maintenance budgets, forecasts, and costs while identifying opportunities to improve equipment lifecycle performance and reduce downtime and maintenance costs.
• Provide visible safety leadership and ensure all maintenance activities comply with company HSE standards, including isolation, lockout, lifting, stored energy, pressure systems, and other maintenance-related critical risks.
  

Requirements

Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field preferred; equivalent technical qualifications with significant relevant experience may be considered. Relevant experience:

• Minimum 10–15 years of progressive heavy equipment maintenance experience, including at least 5 years in a senior supervisory or superintendent role.
• Strong experience managing and maintaining large mining fleets and leading multidisciplinary maintenance teams.
• Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance, equipment reliability, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, major component management, and maintenance planning.
• Strong understanding of maintenance KPIs including equipment availability, MTBF, MTTR, schedule compliance, backlog, and maintenance costs.
• Proven experience with Maintenance Management System and maintenance data management; SAP PM or similar maintenance management system experience is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance budgeting, cost control, spare parts management, and coordination with OEMs and suppliers.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a remote and demanding mining environment.

Salary Rang e: Negotiable.

Employment Type: Temporary contract for the duration of the construction.

Working Hours: Rotation schedule: 23 of work followed by 19 days off.
