Job summary

Marine Spill Response Corporation in Ingleside, TX is seeking an Able Bodied Seaman or Ordinary Seaman to join our team. You will perform mooring, cleaning, maintenance, and painting of vessels and equipment during a 3 weeks on/3 weeks off rotation.

The role requires a USCG license, STCW endorsements, a valid medical certificate, and the ability to work in challenging marine environments. Safety, leadership, and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Current USCG license AB Special or Ordinary Seafarer.
• STCW endorsements must list specific endorsements (BT, RFPNW, Able Seafarer-Deck, lifeboatman).
• Valid USCG medical certificate (STCW) required.
• Capable of prolonged, strenuous work onboard vessels at sea.
• Effective leadership and written and oral communications skills.
• Ability to operate industrial equipment and their systems safely.
• 40-Hour Hazwoper is desired.
• Background check, pre-hire medical exam and drug screen; ability to obtain a valid driver's license, TWIC, and U.S. Passport.

Responsibilities

• Mooring or anchoring duties.
• Carry out vessel and equipment cleaning, maintenance, and painting duties.
• Assist in operation and deployment of response equipment as directed by the Master or designee.
• Ensure the vessel and its equipment are cleaned and secured after each trip.
• Splice and care for all lines, especially when moored; ensure proper tension and apply chafing gear as needed.
