Job summary

GAULT ENERGY/RURAL FUELS in Bridgeport, CT is seeking a dedicated oil/propane delivery driver to ensure safe, on-time residential and commercial deliveries. The role includes daily truck inspections, inventory records, and basic vehicle maintenance.

Qualifications

DIVISION & DEPARTMENT: GAULT ENERGY/RURAL FUELS

LOCATION: BRIDGEPORT CT, TRUMBULL CT

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for safe and efficient delivery of heating oil and propane to residential and commercial customers. This role includes conducting daily truck inspections, maintaining accurate inventory records, and performing basic vehicle maintenance. The driver must ensure compliance with all DOT safety regulations while delivering products in a timely and professional manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Operate and drive oil and propane delivery trucks to assigned locations; deliver product.
• Perform daily truck inspections.
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations.
• Log mileage, inventory, and delivery records in a detailed and accurate manner.
• Be proactive in identifying maintenance needs, keeping the vehicle in optimal condition.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Valid CDL driver’s license, valid hazmat certification and valid TWIC card.
• 1-2 years of experience in residential oil/ propane delivery or similar fuel delivery roles is preferred.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

100% field work. Working outside in all weather conditions. Driving an oil truck to customers, getting in and out of the truck numerous times throughout the day to make deliveries. Working with and exposed to hazardous materials daily.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, twisting, lifting and pulling of parts and equipment. Must be able to pull a 75-90lbs hose up to 175 feet for deliveries. The position requires employees to regularly talk and hear. Frequent diving is required, climbing in and out of the truck and handling heavy hoses and equipment throughout the day, as well as climbing over fences or walls during deliveries.
