Job summary

Devon Energy Corp. is seeking a Maintenance Operator in North Dakota to sustain and repair critical oil and gas facility equipment.

This role involves performing moderately complex tasks, inspecting systems, and coordinating with planners and safety teams to ensure regulatory compliance and reliable production. The position emphasizes preventive maintenance, problem-solving, and safety, with responsibilities for equipment such as valves, pumping units, and test gear.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant E&P operations experience.
• Experience in control, design, and operations of oil & gas facilities.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Performs moderately complex corrective tasks including Tank Valves, Seat and Trim, Dump Controllers, Kimray Valves, Water Transfer, Pumping Unit Stuffing Box, Sump Pots, and Ball Valves as scheduled by planner/scheduler.
• Repairs or replaces well site equipment per environmental compliance and well site control on pneumatic equipment, maintaining regulatory, environmental, and safety compliance with Maintenance Planners, Operations Engineers, Superintendents, Foremen, and EHS Department.
• Assists in developing and implementing SOPs, prioritizing projects, and recommending optimization in oversight tasks.
• Collaborates with Maintenance Planner to streamline cycle times and ensure timely closure of work orders.
• Maintains positive relationships with local, state, and federal representatives and landowners; secures and maintains all company equipment.
• Recognizes and resolves moderately complex problems, taking corrective action in emergencies to improve efficiency and safety.
• Under supervision, stops work in unsafe conditions and communicates safety concerns.
• Provides field-wide contact during emergencies or significant events.
• Follows safety protocols and regulatory standards in all work activities.
• Trains new hires and maintains batteries, wells, and plants to support production operations; implements quality control.
