Department of Conservation’s CalGEM program seeks an Associate Oil and Gas Engineer to oversee enforcement of Idle Well regulations and support regulatory actions. The role requires deep petroleum engineering and geology knowledge and ability to manage technical directives and reporting.

The incumbent will monitor operator compliance, prepare directives, and guide preventative measures while supporting the department’s public health, safety, and environmental goals.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of petroleum engineering and geology, petroleum operations, production, and good oil field practice.
• Experience with database management and data reporting.
• Strong communication, presentation, and disclosure abilities.

Responsabilités

• Monitor and investigate operator adherence to Idle Well statutes and regulations.
• Prepare technical and legal directives as needed.
• Advise operators on preventative and corrective actions.
