Job summary

Occidental Petroleum Corporation in Houston seeks a Crude Settlement Accountant to manage monthly settlements and the close process. You will reconcile pipeline volumes, resolve variances, prepare journal vouchers and monthly reconciliations, and collaborate with the volumes, front office and settlements teams.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, 4+ years in Energy Marketing with at least 3 years in Crude Oil, and experience with trading systems (Horizon).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• 4+ years in Energy Marketing; at least 3 years in Crude Oil.
• Experience with trading systems; Horizon experience a plus.
• Strong communication and ability to work with internal operations and external customers.
• Proactive, team-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficient in Excel with data mining and manipulation capabilities.
• Ablity to research and analyze variances and respond professionally.

Responsibilities

• Monthly settlement of commodity purchases and sales with internal and external customers.
• Research and analyze aged balances to clear open variances in AR/AP.
• Prepare monthly journal vouchers related to AR, AP, cash, broker and prepaid accounts.
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations and address reconciling items.
• Collaborate with volumes, front office and settlements teams for improvements.
• Create desk procedures and train backups for primary duties.
• Overtime may be required during critical periods.
