Job summary

Ed Martin Automotive Group is seeking Oil/Filter Change Technicians to join our Service Department. The ideal candidate will perform oil and filter changes, tire air pressure topping, fluid tops, and other entry-level service tasks.

Qualifications

• Identify problems quickly in service tasks.
• Knowledge of automobiles.
• Analytical and communication skills.
• Able to learn new repair procedures and specifications.
• Able to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• High school diploma or GED; technical degree or ASE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Test systems and components to ensure they are secure and functioning.
• Isolate components causing problems.
• Drive vehicle for testing purposes.
• Maintain efficiency and accuracy in diagnostics and repairs.
• Repair or replace worn parts before breakdown.
• Use power, machine, and hand tools to complete tasks.

The ideal candidate will posses some level of experience in a business setting with performing Oil & Filter Changes, Topping off air pressure in tires, Filling/replacing various fluids and other entry level service tasks. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Test to check whether systems and components are secure and working properly
• Isolate the systems or components that might have caused the problem
• Drive the vehicle for testing purposes
• Maintain efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing as well as repairing vehicles
• Repair or replace worn parts ahead of the vehicle's breakdown or damage
• Use power tools, machine tools, and common hand tools to perform various tasks

REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to identify the problem quickly
• Knowledge of automobiles
• Effective analytical and communication skills
• Strong reading, computer, and mathematics skills
• Ability to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications
• Comfortable operating electronic diagnostic equipment
• High school diploma or GED
• Technical degree preferred
• ASE certifications preferred
• Minimum of 1 year in service department
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work on your feet for extended periods of time
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Basic computer skills
• Positive, friendly attitude
