Job summary

A law firm in Edmond, OK seeks an Oil and Gas Title Attorney to join full-time. You will conduct title examinations, analyze deeds, leases, and contracts to determine ownership, and draft title opinions identifying defects and liens.

You'll perform due diligence on oil and gas transactions, draft and negotiate agreements, stay current with laws, support other projects, and meet a quarterly 450-hour billable target.

Qualifications

  • JD degree and active Oklahoma license with at least 1 year of title opinion drafting experience.

Duties
  • Conduct title examinations to determine ownership of oil and gas properties.
  • Analyze documents such as deeds, leases, and contracts to establish ownership rights.
  • Draft title opinions identifying defects, liens, or issues affecting property ownership.
  • Perform due diligence for oil and gas transactions, including mergers and acquisitions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate agreements and contracts, ensuring compliance with laws.
  • Stay updated on relevant federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with litigation attorneys for dispute resolution if necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to execute complex legal transactions.
  • Meet quarterly billable requirement of 450 hours.
  • Engage in continuous learning and support other projects as needed.
Requirements
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active license with at least one year of experience drafting title opinions in Oklahoma.
  • Familiarity with preparing large, unit-wide division order ownerships.
