Job summary

Hocking Valley Title Agency in Lancaster, Ohio is seeking an experienced Ohio Licensed Title Insurance Agent to manage real estate transactions from opening through final policy issuance while delivering an exceptional client experience.

The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of title insurance, escrow, and closings, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with direct interaction with clients, REALTORS®, lenders, and attorneys.

Qualifications

• Current Ohio Title Insurance Agent License is required.
• Minimum of three years of Ohio title insurance and closing experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Ohio real estate transactions, title insurance, escrow procedures, and underwriting requirements.
• Experience conducting residential and commercial real estate closings.

Responsibilities

• Receive new title orders and conduct file intake, including opening files, data entry, and ordering title searches.
• Review title examinations, identify and resolve title defects, and clear issues prior to closing.
• Order payoffs, surveys, lien releases, and other documents necessary to facilitate closing.
• Prepare, review, sign, and issue Title Insurance Commitments in accordance with underwriting guidelines.
• Update title searches prior to closing.
• Prepare, review, sign, and issue final Owner's and Lender's Title Insurance Policies.
• Complete all post-closing activities, including recording documents and ensuring final file completion.
• Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the transaction.
• Prepare Closing Disclosures (CDs) and/or Settlement Statements.
• Assemble complete closing packages.
• Schedule and conduct residential and commercial real estate closings.
• Explain closing documents to buyers, sellers, borrowers, and other parties.
• Collect, balance, and accurately disburse escrow funds.
• Ensure all closing requirements have been satisfied and transactions are completed accurately and timely.
