Job summary

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) seeks a permanent Mechanic in Euclid, OH, to perform preventive maintenance on cars, trucks and equipment, and to carry out minor repairs. The position is full-time with varied work hours and a union environment under OCSEA.

Candidates must have 24 months of automotive repair experience or 12 months as an ODOT Mechanic Trainee, plus a CDL if required. The role includes maintaining accurate maintenance records and ensuring compliance with agency

Qualifications

• 24 months in automotive repair and maintenance of a variety of vehicles and/or equipment.
• Valid commercial driver’s license required if motor equipment is regulated by Ohio code.
• Or 12 months as ODOT Mechanic Trainee, 52151; CDL required if motor equipment is regulated by Ohio code.
• Must submit to urinalysis prior to appointment; positive result disqualifies applicant per Ohio revised code.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and service on cars, trucks, and equipment.
• Perform minor repairs or other related mechanical work.
• Maintain records of repairs and maintenance.
