Job summary

Ohio Department of Transportation in Oberlin (Lorain County) is seeking a Master Mechanic to perform major overhauls of gasoline and diesel engines, troubleshoot electronic systems, and calibrate hydraulic control units. The role includes on-the-job training and supervision of trainee mechanics at the District 3 Garage in Lorain County.

Requires 48 months of repair experience or 24 months as an ODOT Mechanic, along with a valid CDL for eligible equipment.

Qualifications

• 48 months of repair and maintenance experience.
• Valid commercial driver’s license required if equipment is regulated by Ohio code sections 4506.01 & 4506.12.

Responsibilities

• Performs major overhauls of gasoline &/or diesel engines.
• Repairs, rebuilds, and/or replaces minor & major parts.
• Diagnoses, troubleshoots, replaces &/or repairs electronic systems &
• Identifies, troubleshoots, repairs & calibrates hydraulic system control units.
