Job summary

The Ohio Department of Transportation, District 7, is seeking a Body Collision & Paint Repair Worker/ODOT Mechanic PN 20060799 in Sidney, OH. The role requires 24 months of automotive repair experience or 12 months as Mechanic Trainee, with a valid CDL.

Full-time, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, union OCSEA, on-site at District 7 HQ in Sidney. You will inspect vehicles, remove damaged parts, repair dents, weld and fit replacements, prepare surfaces and paint, align frames, replace windshields, and perform

Qualifications

24 mos. exp. in automotive repair & maintenance of variety of vehicles and/or equipment identified by agency.
Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) required if motor equipment is of type and size regulated by Ohio Revised Code.
Final applicant may be required to submit to urinalysis per regulations; CDL required for certain equipment.

Responsibilities

Inspect vehicles to assess damage and determine repairs.
Remove damaged parts such as bumpers, fenders, hoods and restore surfaces.
Repair dents and scratches using fillers, hammers and related tools.
Weld and fit replacement parts to restore structural integrity.
Prepare surfaces by sanding and grinding; apply primers and paint coats.
Install glass and windshields; perform preventive maintenance and service on vehicles and equipment.
