Job summary

Viega LLC in Mantua OH is seeking a Material Handler I for the 1st shift. You will ensure raw materials are stocked and moved from the warehouse to production, following the schedule and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities include material flow, forklift and pallet jack operation, and supporting recycling and waste handling. Strong reading, math, and teamwork are essential for smooth daily operations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Review production schedule to determine materials needed for production run; ensure machines, equipment and materials are placed in order to run daily production.
Manually and visually checks raw material levels; shovels loose materials to ensure continuous suction and flow.
Pull raw materials as needed or requested from warehouse using forklift or pallet jack.
Break down empty gaylord boxes; stack materials into bundles and load onto trailer with pallet jack.
Maintain tracking system of materials removed from warehouse and update records.

Job Description Summary

The Material Handler responsible for making sure lines are adequately stocked with raw material according to production schedule; loading, unloading and moving material from raw material warehouse into production as needed.

What You'll Do

Material Flow and Distribution

Review production schedule to determine materials needed for production run; ensure machines, equipment and materials are place in order to run daily production.
Manually and visually checks raw material levels in resin boxes; shovels loose materials inside boxes to ensure continuous suction and flow throughout tubing.
Review production schedule for color changes and changeovers; pulls materials and distributes to designated areas to ensure they are in place for next scheduled run; at end of each schedule runs out materials to assist with easy changeover.
Pull raw material as needed or requested from warehouse utilizing forklift or pallet jack.
Material Flow and Distribution
Break down empty gaylord boxes; stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together utilizing banding machine; load bundles onto a trailer utilizing a pallet jack; transports gaylord boxes to recycling trailer.

Recycling

Maintain tracking system of materials being removed from warehouse by pulling empty boxes and tracking lot numbers and quantity used; update tracking system.

Other

Attends meetings, workshops and/or learning sessions as required and/or assigned.
Empty trash as on as needed.
Unload trucks as needed.
Serve as a back up to Raw Materials Receiving Operator and/or other functions/areas as needed.
Performs other duties as required and/or assigned

Compensation

Total Rewards Package

Base: $20 - $25 hourly, based on specific compensable factors including, but not limited to education, work experience, and geographic market.
Bonus: This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
