Job Overview

The Medical Assistant II provides clinical support to physicians and performs patient care and administrative duties to ensure quality patient services. Mentoring less experienced staff may also be part of the role.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist with patient care, including scheduling, patient flow, assisting with procedures, taking vital signs, and providing patient instructions.
  2. Handle clerical tasks such as managing medical records, lab reports, and forms, using EMR systems.
  3. Enter orders and prepare prescriptions in the EMR system.
  4. Manage medical supplies and ensure proper sterilization and storage.
  5. Maintain logs for medications, testing, and sterilization processes.
  6. Ensure safety and compliance with infection control and legal standards.
  7. Assist with medical chart maintenance and scheduling surgeries or procedures.
  8. Perform phlebotomy duties as needed.
  9. Assist with patient registration, scheduling, and insurance verification.
  10. Mentor junior staff and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Medical Assistant certification from an approved program or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of Medical Assistant experience.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomy certification program.
  • CMA or RMA certification required.
Additional Information

Salary range: $23.82 - $25.87/hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
