Job summary

Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale is seeking an Off-Site Maintenance Technician to maintain building condition, equipment, and tools across offsite properties. The role involves carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, tiling, and related tasks assigned via a work order system.

You will work with the facilities team, church staff, volunteers, and vendors to complete assigned tasks, with potential evenings or weekend work for events or emergencies.

LOCATION: 2401 West Cypress Creek Road Fort Lauderdale FL, 33309

The Off-Site Maintenance Technician’s role is to maintain the condition of the building, equipment, and tools by utilizing specific skills such as carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, plastering, painting, tiling, etc. for offsite properties that are pleasing and glorify to the Lord. This work is assigned by task through a work order system. The Off-Site Maintenance Technician carries out the tasks as directed by the Offsite Property Manager. This person works with facilities department staff, church staff, volunteers, and vendors to accomplish their assigned tasks.

You will:
  • Perform and follow through with any necessary tasks relating to events, projects, building, moving, construction, or staff needs related to offsite properties
  • Receive, prioritize, update, and complete off site maintenance requests made by all church staff and teaching staff as assigned by the Offsite Property Manager
  • Support and assist maintenance staff as needed
  • Provide general assistance within the facilities department for special events, ministry, outreaches, projects, construction, moves, or other needs related to the church
  • Assist in church workdays and other volunteer events by serving as a team member or leader, as needed
  • Assist other facilities employees who may require help in completing tasks
You have:
  • Basic administrative skills such as making and receiving phone calls from vendors, responding to emails in a timely manner, and completing tasks promptly using a task management software
  • Excellent organizational skills with an appreciation for details
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for relating effectively with staff members, leadership, church body, community leaders, vendors and other professionals
  • The ability to handle multiple projects at one time, with an emphasis on follow- through.
  • The willingness to learn additional skills needed to accomplish the overall work of related to special projects and maintaining the church facilities
  • The ability to perform labor intensive work (work tasks will include time spent outside & indoors, stooping, bending, lifting, standing for long periods of times, & walking)
  • Good troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Flexibility with good time management skills
  • Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to work alone as well as with a team
  • A willingness to commute and/or travel to multiple campuses/sites
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks at one time, yet able to focus on the work at hand to carry to completion
  • A valid driver's license and are up to date with current driving laws

This is a full-time (40 hours/week) hourly non-exempt position.

You may have to work evenings and/or weekends to assist with special events or emergencies.

Work Schedule:

Staff culture is important to what we do. To love like family, we require all staff to attend all staff meetings, department meetings and serve with a willing heart especially at all major campus events. Full time (40 hours/week); however, you may be required to work an evening or weekend day to help with a special event or project or in an emergency situation affecting the church facilities.
