  • Completion of Licensed Practical Nurse certificate program.
  • 1.0–2 years of experience as an LPN preferred.
  • IV therapy and/or phlebotomy skills preferred.
  • Competency skill checklist completed within first 3 months.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse license issued by NYS/ DOS.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and escort patient for exams and procedures.
  • Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, and physician instructions to patients.
  • Administer medications, including injections and IV therapy within licensure scope.
  • Provide basic patient care such as wound care, catheterizations, and compresses.
  • Collect, label, and process specimens accurately.
  • Maintain clean, ready treatment rooms for patient visits.
  • Assemble and use equipment appropriate to medical practice.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments as needed.
  • Enter patient information into EMR accurately and timely.
  • Support physician's work environment and administrative duties.
  • Manage medical inventory and supplies based on par levels.
  • Work under supervision of physician or RN.

The Offsite Licensed Practical Nurse I work as a part of the healthcare team by assisting in planning and implementing care interventions while promoting high quality patient care in a professional, efficient and safe manner, ensuring the patient flow. The Offsite LPN provides personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to patients. This individual is expected to maintain up-to-date knowledge in this area and apply it to everyday practice.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and escorts the patient for exams and procedures.
  • Explains treatment procedures, medications, diets and physicians

instructions to patients.

  • Administers medications, including all types of injections, IV therapy

as needed and within the scope of licensure.

  • Provides basic patient care and treatments, including but not limited

to: dressing wounds, performing catheterizations or applying compresses.

  • Collects, labels and processes specimens accurately.
  • Cleans and prepares medical treatment rooms for patient visits
  • Assembles and uses equipment appropriate to specific medical practice.
  • Schedules follow-up appointments for patients as needed.
  • Communicates delays effectively when necessary.
  • Enters patient information

into the electronic medical record accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Manages the physician's work

environment appropriately.

  • Provides clerical support to

patients including, but not limited to, making appointments, booking

procedures, obtaining pre-authorizations and answering telephones.

  • Manages medical inventory

and supply ordering based on par levels.

  • Must work under the

supervision of the physician or Registered Nurse.

  • Performs other related

Compensation

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $36.6629 - $36.6629 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
