Job summary

GEV Wind Power is seeking an Offshore Traveling Basic Service Technician to support maintenance on offshore wind turbines and assist experienced technicians in a travel-intensive role. The position requires working in offshore environments, adhering to safety protocols, and performing basic mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic tasks with tools and equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6+ months of experience in wind turbine service and maintenance.
• Basic mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic knowledge.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and torque/tensioning equipment.
• Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions and safety documentation.
• Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
• Ability to travel offshore and transfer between vessels 100%.
• Must be able to read/write/speak English and pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic scheduled and preventative maintenance on offshore wind turbines.
• Assist experienced technicians with maintenance activities.
• Perform basic mechanical and electrical tasks per procedures.
• Assist with component replacements and general turbine maintenance.
• Use hand tools, power tools, torque equipment safely and correctly.
• Follow LOTO, energy isolation and safety procedures.
• Work safely at heights and in confined spaces inside turbines.
• Participate in offshore transfers between vessels and structures.
• Maintain tools, PPE, and work areas in safe condition.
• Complete maintenance records, checklists, timesheets, and logs.
• Attend daily safety meetings and pre-task planning.
• Adhere to customer, site, vessel, and company policies.
• Report safety concerns, hazards, incidents, and quality issues immediately.
• Collaborate with technicians, supervisors, vessel crews, and customers.
• Perform additional duties to support offshore service operations.
