Job summary

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy is seeking an Offshore Wind Technician to perform service, maintenance, and troubleshooting on Direct Drive turbines. The role involves travel up to 80% across wind farms, with offshore shift rotations (e.g., 2 weeks on/2 weeks off) during Coastal Virginia projects, while ensuring high first-time fix rates and availability.

Qualifications

• The candidate must demonstrate strong initiative and motivation to learn new technology.
• Relevant work experience, ideally within the wind industry, or demonstrated knowledge in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic maintenance/troubleshooting.
• High school diploma or GED; electrical and/or mechanical education preferred.
• Physically and mentally able to work suspended from heights and in confined spaces.
• Body weight restrictions of 265 pounds or less as required by safety regulations.
• Must pass a medical physical to safely perform job functions.

Responsibilities

• Offshore service, maintenance, and troubleshooting on wind turbines.
• Active safety leadership onshore, aboard the service vessel, in turbines and wind farms.
• Provide excellent service to customers.
• Work safely in a team of at least 2 people.
• Flexible schedule and ability to analyze and resolve issues independently.
• Ensure compliance with SGRE standards and US EHS/Quality regulations.
