Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years offshore experience.
• Recent offshore experience within the last 4 years.
• Minimum of 2 years experience welding pipe and/or structural on carbon steel.
• Ability to layout, fit, install, and assemble according to plans.
• Familiarity with emergency response/escape and water survival procedures on offshore facilities.

Responsibilities

• Use pipe cutting machine, or beveling machine to cut pipe to required length.
• After every weld, clean and apply stencil; stencil every 3 feet of weld length.
• Coordinate with helper/rigger for materials and equipment.
• Align parts using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, and heavy hammers.
• Straighten warped or bent parts using suitable tools.
• Submit accurate oxygen and acetylene bottle counts daily to offshore management.
• Ensure welding activities comply with company polices and regulations.
• Maintain inventory of consumables for repairs and fabrication.
• Perform welding, flame cutting, and related tasks as required.
• Assemble and secure pipes, fittings, and equipment per specifications.
• Inspect and test systems using pressure gauges or hydrostatic testing.
• Read blueprints and ISOs; plan layouts per specs.
• Demolish and install handrails and grating on platforms.
• Verify measurements for square and level before welding.
• Work at heights as needed.
• Tag fabricated items with job numbers and customer names.
