Job summary

Acadian Contractors, Inc. is seeking an Offshore Fitter to lay out, cut, and fit piping, vessel, and structural components based on drawings or field measurements. The role demands offshore construction experience, strong safety focus, and reliability in coordinating with helpers, riggers, and welders.

The successful candidate will read blueprints/ISOs, perform take-offs for cut lengths, and ensure quality and compliance with HSE standards in offshore environments.

Qualifications

• 2 years minimum experience in fitting (piping, vessel, and structural) fabrication.
• Minimum of 2 years offshore construction experience.
• Ability to read and interpret ISOs and blueprints.
• Familiarity with offshore emergency response, escape procedures, and water survival skills.

Responsibilities

• Figure material take-offs on drawings for required cut lengths.
• Use pipe cutting machine, or beveling machine to cut pipe to required length.
• Communicate with helper/rigger to identify needed material or equipment for each task.
• Align parts using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and heavy hammers.
• Mark reference points on floor or face block and transpose them to workpiece using measuring devices.
• Give instructions to welders to build up low spots or short pieces with weld.
• Inspect and test installed systems and pipelines using pressure gauges or hydrostatic testing.
• Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair per specifications.
