Job summary

Harbor Docking & Towing LLC is seeking a Tug Mate (Pilot) in Lake Charles, LA, responsible for assisting the tug Master in the operation and management of the company’s tug for offshore towing operations. All candidates must possess valid maritime credentials and be familiar with safety and maintenance standards.

This position involves a 21/21 schedule and requires a strong commitment to working in a high-pressure offshore environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold appropriate Merchant Mariner Credential.
• Must have minimum six years experience aboard towing vessels.
• Must reside in vicinity of Lake Charles, LA or relocate.

Responsibilities

• Stand wheelman watches 12 hours offshore.
• Pilot the vessel safely and orderly.
• Deliver vessel and crew safely to destination.
• Maintain order among the crew.
• Direct overall operation under observation of the master.
• Train crewmembers on policies.
• Report deficiencies to the master.
• Maintain professional attitude.
• Participate in safety drills and meetings.
