Job summary

Next Generation Logistics is seeking a qualified Tugboat Captain to lead a 900 HP Lugger tugboat operation for a client in Chauvin, Louisiana. The role includes managing the crew, coordinating 12-hour shifts, pushing barges to drilling locations, and ensuring safe, pollution-free operation in shallow-water environments.

Rotation is 28/14 with emphasis on safety and cost efficiency. Requirements include a USCG MOTV Captain license with towing endorsements, a valid TWIC and DL, and the ability to

Qualifications

• USCG MOTV Captain license with towing endorsements is required.
• TWIC and valid driver's license are mandatory.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Physically able to lift up to 75 lbs and manage crew safely.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate the tugboat and support equipment.
• Implement safety and environmental policies; lead and direct the crew.
• Report defects and safety/pollution risks to the Company.
• Coordinate on-board training and ensure up-to-date safety information.
• Maintain logs and radio watch as required; assign tasks to mates/deckhands.
