Job summary

Wood is seeking an Underwater Inspection Controller to support offshore and onshore inspection campaigns. The contract is expected to last 24 months, with work from vessels or the remote operations center in Houston.

The role suits independent contractors available for multi-week offshore assignments. The ideal candidate has subsea inspection experience, familiarity with NDE methods, and willingness to work offshore for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years’ experience conducting inspection campaigns of subsea components or onshore equipment.
• CSWIP 3.3U / 3.4U underwater inspection qualification is preferred.
• Excellent written and spoken English; safety and regulatory compliance.
• Willing to work offshore for extended periods (3+ weeks) and pass HSSEA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect topside and subsea components both on and offshore under supervision.
• Carry out offshore inspection campaigns for multi-week durations.
• Generate inspection procedures and reports per client requests and codes.
• Learn and use NEXUS IC or equivalent software and data management systems.
• Provide live video commentary during campaigns.
• Assist mobilization/demobilization of inspection equipment.
• Prepare work packs and generate databases for campaigns; review videos and reports.
