Job summary

CORE Group seeks an experienced Offshore Rig Mechanic to join a deepwater drillship operating in the Gulf of Mexico. This hands-on role requires immediate contribution with strong background in offshore maintenance and rig equipment across multiple systems.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, rebuilds, and rapid response to outages to minimize downtime. Candidates should read mechanical drawings and follow OEM manuals while adhering to permit-to-work and LOTO

Qualifications

• Experience across multiple rig systems beyond a single component.
• Ability to read drawings and interpret OEM manuals.
• Strong mechanical maintenance and rebuild capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on top drive, drawworks, mud pumps, hydraulics, and other rig equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical failures and rebuild equipment as needed.
• Replace bearings, seals, cylinders, valves, and hydraulic components.
• Respond to breakdowns quickly to minimize downtime and support ongoing drilling operations.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and OEM manuals, working under permit-to-work and LOTO procedures.
