Job summary

Core Group seeks an experienced QMED / Motorman for a deepwater drillship operating in the Gulf. This hitch requires offshore experience and the ability to onboard quickly to support the engine department in daily operations, inspection, and maintenance of engine room machinery.

You will work around diesel-electric power generation and related systems, perform rounds, lubrication, and minor repairs, and assist with preventive maintenance in a fast-paced offshore environment.

Qualifications

  • Offshore experience required and applicable QMED role.
  • QMED endorsement and drillship experience preferred.
  • USCG MMC with QMED endorsement and STCW-compliant medical certificate required.
  • Commercial offshore safety certifications (BOSIET/FOET/THUET, RigPass/SafeGulf) expected.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineers with day-to-day engine room operations, inspections, and maintenance.
  • Perform routine machinery rounds and record operating pressures, temperatures, and fluid levels.
  • Complete lubrication tasks, filter changes, and minor mechanical repairs.
  • Clean and maintain engine spaces to support safe, efficient operations.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance and equipment overhauls as directed.
  • Work around diesel-electric power generation and related systems to support drilling and marine operations.
