Job summary

SGS North America Inc. is seeking an experienced Pipeline/Welding Inspector for a contract assignment in Ingleside, Texas to support subsea pipeline fabrication and offshore installation activities.

The role spans shipyard fabrication, loadout, pipelay vessel operations, and offshore installation. The ideal candidate holds AWS CWI or CSWIP 3.1/3.2 certification, with offshore/subsea experience, and can document inspections, verify MTRs/WPS/PQRs, and identify non-conformances in a high‑stakes

Qualifications

• Current AWS CWI or CSWIP 3.1/3.2 certification required.
• Experience inspecting offshore/subsea pipeline fabrication and welding.
• Ability to review ITPs, MTRs, WPS/PQRs and document non-conformances.
• Knowledge of coating, hydrotesting, and final inspection documentation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review ITPs, specifications, and procedures to verify compliance.
• Perform material receiving inspections and verify MTRs and traceability.
• Witness and review welding procedures and welder qualifications.
• Inspect coating, piping fabrication, hydrotesting, and preservation activities.
• Provide inspection coverage through loadout, pipelay vessel, and offshore installation phases.
