Job summary

Genesis in Houma, LA seeks an Electrical/PLC Technician to support crude oil pipeline operations. You will install, test, repair, and calibrate equipment such as pumps, motors, meters, valves, PLCs, and related control systems while ensuring regulatory compliance.

The role requires a high school diploma or technical degree, 2 years of relevant experience, familiarity with Allen Bradley/GE PLCs, excellent computer skills, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years applicable experience or a technical degree.
• Experience with high voltage and PLC units; Allen Bradley and GE preferred.
• Must be a self-starter, responsible and able to work with very limited supervision.
• Prior experience with LACT/ACT systems is preferred.
• Travel may be required; valid driver’s license.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Safety-Sensitive position; subject to pre-employment and random Drug and Alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Specification, installation, testing and repair of electrical/electronic equipment used in crude oil pipeline operation (pumps, motors, valves, actuators, meters, transmitters, PLCs).
• Perform operational duties including measurements and regulatory equipment inspections.
• Maintain compliance documentation per regulations.
• Collaborate with Maintenance and Operations to resolve field problems.
• Test, calibrate and maintain LACT/ACT units and related equipment.
• Take crude oil samples and maintain sampling equipment.
