Job summary

Genesis Energy, L.P. in Houma, LA seeks an Electrical/PLC Technician to support crude oil pipeline operations. Install, test, and repair electrical equipment, perform measurements, and conduct regulatory inspections.

You must have a HS diploma or GED, 2 years of related experience or a technical degree, knowledge of high voltage and PLCs (Allen Bradley/GE), and a valid driver’s license. Travel may be required; OQ training and safety program participation are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years related experience or technical degree preferred.
• Experience with high voltage and PLC units; Allen Bradley and GE preferred.
• Must be self-motivated, able to work with limited supervision.
• LACT/ACT systems experience preferred.
• Travel may be required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Position is Safety Sensitive and may require pre-employment/random drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, and repair electrical/electronic equipment on crude oil pipelines.
• Perform measurements and regulatory equipment inspections.
• Maintain compliance documentation per regulations.
• Collaborate with Maintenance and Operations to resolve field issues.
• Test, calibrate, and maintain LACT/ACT units and associated equipment.
• Take crude oil samples and repair sampling equipment.
• Operate and maintain flow meters, valves, and related devices.
• Launch/receive pipeline pigs and ensure regulator/relief valve reliability.
• Complete OQ training and participate in company safety program.
